Jaclyn Sersland is a rising fifth year student at the George Washington University, studying criminal justice and political science.
She has written for various student publications over the course of her academic career, and she has special interests in journalism and law.
After graduation, she hopes to find a career that combines her interests in writing, media, and criminal justice. She joined D.C. Witness to gain valuable and practical experience reporting on the D.C. court systems and criminal cases, and she plans to use her time at D.C. Witness to bring more transparency to criminal cases happening in the city as well as to improve upon her investigative, analytical, and detail-oriented skills.
