The man accused of the murder of a teen on his way to get a haircut and an off-duty secret service officer had trial dates set for next year for the unrelated cases.
Maurice Bellamy is being held without bail in two separate murder cases. A trial was scheduled for next February for Bellamy’s alleged fatal shooting of off-duty secret service officer Arthur Baldwin. Bellamy had previously pleaded not guilty to four charges surrounding this case: robbery while armed, two counts of possession of a firearm during a crime of violence and murder while armed and in the commission of a robbery.
In another case, where he stands accused of killing Davonte Washington on a metro platform before Easter Sunday, Bellamy has also pleaded not guilty to first-degree murder while armed and possession of a firearm during a crime of violence.
A second man, Charles Sims, charged with the murder of Baldwin was sentenced earlier this year as part of a plea deal.
