A 19-year-old was fatally shot Tuesday afternoon, according to police.
Tyree Banks, of Southeast, was found with gunshot wounds at around 3:30 p.m. Tuesday by police responding to the sounds of gunshots in the 5000 block of Benning Road. Banks was taken to the hospital where he died from his injuries.
