The Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) is seeking the public’s assistance in investigating a homicide that occurred on July 31 on the 1800 block of West Virginia Avenue, NE.
According to MPD documents, officers responded to the area after gunshot sounds were reported and located an adult male shooting victim. The victim was pronounced dead when DC Fire and Emergency Medical Services found no signs of life.
The victim has been identified as 44-year-old Russell Wiseman.
