Document: Homicide: 2300 Block of Second Street, Northeast

The Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) is seeking the public’s assistance in investigating a homicide that occurred on Aug. 2 on the 2300 block of Second Street, NE.

According to MPD documents, officers responded to the area after reports of gunshot sounds and located an adult male shooting victim. DC Fire and Emergency Medical Services attempted all life-saving efforts but the victim succumbed to his injuries in a nearby hospital.

The victim has been identified as 40-year-old Richard Silver.
