DC Superior Court Judge Julie Becker scheduled a preliminary hearing for a defendant charged with first-degree sexual abuse while armed.

Landrell Jordan, 43, is charged in connection with an incident that occurred on Jan. 27, 2006. According to court documents, Jordan allegedly forced a woman  to perform oral sex on him at gunpoint.

The defendant’s preliminary hearing to assess if there is enough evidence to go to trial is scheduled for Aug. 13.

A lip swab of the victim was taken, but DNA testing at the time did not find any conclusive material that could be used for matching purposes.

But, in October of 2019, the victim submitted her scarf  as evidence. The following April, DNA evidence was found on the scarf tied Jordan to the crime.

Jordan is being held at the DC Jail.
