Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) detectives are investigating a homicide that occurred on June 18.
At about 12:07 a.m. police responded to reports of shooting at the 100 block of Kennedy Street, NW. Benson Thorne Sr., 52, was pronounced dead on the scene.
