Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) detectives are investigating a homicide that occurred on Sept. 17.
At approximately 12:19 p.m. police responded to the 4500 block of Benning Road, SE, due to a report of a shooting. Upon arrival, police located 57-year-old Mark Johnson with gunshot wounds and transported him to a local hospital. He later succumbed to his injuries, according to the press release.
