On May 8, judges at the DC Superior Courthouse released two inmates.
There were two hearings that were not in relation to emergency releases because of COVID-19. A motion hearing for two co-defendants was not called or rescheduled.
One defendant refused to attend his bond hearing and had his hearing rescheduled.
One attorney asked for a continuance which was granted.
One defendant was not eligible for release because of other charges, while another defendant was held at St. Elizabeth’s Hospital, DC’s psychiatric institution for unspecified reasons.
Judges denied one release.
In total there were 11 defendants that had cases. A majority of the cases were for bond review hearings. You can read about each case on dcwitness.org.
