On May 11, a DC Superior Court judge granted a defendant permission to attend a funeral.
Kenneth Johnson is charged with unlawful possession of a firearm with a prior conviction.
Judge Michael Ryan agreed to release Johnson for one day in order to attend a funeral as long as there is no conflict with his parole detainer.
A felony status conference is scheduled for June 17.
