Even though a DC Superior Court judge decided to release a man charged with a misdemeanor, it is still possible that he could be detained by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).

Theophilus Agedah is charged with threats to do bodily harm for threatening to shoot a metro bus driver on Christmas Day in 2018.

Judge Julie Becker released Agedah on his own personal recognizance. There is a possibility that ICE can pick him up. According to a motion for modified conditions of release filed on May 27, Agedah has been detained by ICE before.

Agedah is scheduled for another hearing on July 20.
