Document: Arrest Made for 1996 and 2018 Homicides

The Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) has made an arrest for two homicides, which occurred on June 11, 1996 and May 20, 2018.

On Tuesday, June 11, 1996, officers found 26 year-old Cedric Rogers, on the 300 block of Franklin Street, NE, suffering from gunshot wounds. Rogers was transported to a local hospital for treatment, but he passed away.

On Sunday, May 20, 2018, officers found 39 year-old Ronald William Richardson, Jr. suffering from multiple gunshot wounds on the 2300 block of 4th Street, NE. Richardson was pronounced dead on the scene.

On Dec. 23, 42 year-old Rasheed Young was arrested and charged with first-degree murder while armed for the death of Rogers and second-degree murder while armed for the death of Richardson.
