Four suspects were arrested on May 28 and 29 for the murder of a 13-year-old boy on the 600 block of S Street, NW.
The police arrested 24-year-old Aaron Brown, 21-year-old Reginald Steele, 19-year-old Koran Jackson and 20-year-old Tyiion Freeman for allegedly shooting 13-year-old Malachi Lukes on March 1. All four suspects were arrested for first-degree murder while armed.
According to a press release, Malachi Lukes suffered from a gunshot wound and died on the scene. Another juvenile was also found on the 600 block of Rhode Island Avenue, NW suffering from a gunshot wound. The victim was treated at a local hospital for non-life threatening injuries.
The DCist reported that Lukes was socially involved in his Shaw neighborhood.
