A non-fatal shooting and stabbing defendant entered into his second plea agreement after a decision from the DC Court of Appeals before DC Superior Court Judge Todd Edelman on July 17.  Alvin Jackson, 32, was originally charged with conspiracy while armed, three counts of assault with intent to kill while armed, three counts of criminal street gang affiliation, and three counts of possession of a firearm during a crime of violence for his involvement in a non-fatal shooting that occurred on May 2, 2020 on the 5000 block of H Street, SE. Jury Convicts Defendant of First-Degree Murder in Domestic Violence Case 

A jury found a domestic homicide defendant guilty on all charges before DC Superior Court Judge Park on July 16.  Wonell Jones Jr., 38, is charged with premeditated first-degree murder while armed, possession of a firearm during a crime of violence, and two counts of unlawful possession of a firearm with a prior a crime of violence, for his involvement in the fatal shooting of the mother of two of his children, 33-year-old Audora Williams. Prosecutors Claim Fatal Shooting Stemmed From Domestic ‘Cycle of Violence’

Both parties presented their closing arguments for a domestic violence related fatal shooting case before DC Superior Court Judge Michael Ryan on July 15.  Wonell Jones Jr., 38, is charged with first-degree premeditated murder while armed, possession of a firearm during a crime of violence, and two counts of unlawful possession of a firearm with a prior conviction for a crime of violence for his alleged involvement in the fatal shooting of 33-year-old Audora Williams on July 19, 2022, at 2900 block of Knox Place, SE.  Medical examiners stated in their records that Williams sustained 52 gunshot wounds or defects. DC Superior Court Judge Neal Kravitz ruled on June 26 not to allow prosecutors’ late-filed evidence in a homicide trial.  Gerald Brevard, 34, is charged with first-degree murder premeditated while armed, two counts of assault with intent to kill in a bias-related crime, aggravated assault knowingly in a bias-related crime, five counts of possession of a firearm during a crime of violence, three counts of unlawful possession of a firearm with a prior conviction, three counts of carrying a pistol without a license outside a home or business, mayhem in a bias-related crime, and destruction of property worth less than $1,000.
