During a May 1 hearing, a second-degree theft defendant had his hearing continued.

Richard Holland, 40, is charged with unlawful entry of private property and second-degree theft for an incident that occurred on Dec. 4, 2019, in the 1300 block of Brentwood Street, NE.

The hearing was continued to May 4 with DC Superior Court Judge Michael Ryan to give the prosecution additional time to speak with Holland’s hospital treatment team and determine how to proceed.

Holland is being held at Saint Elizabeth’s Hospital, DC’s pschiatric hospital. He motioned for release due to the COVID-19 pandemic on April 18.
