The sentencing date for a defendant in a domestic violence case was vacated.
Anthony Newman pleaded guilty to simple assault and destruction of property less than $1,000 on Sept. 23, 2019.
Newman entered the plea under a deferred sentencing agreement, which means that is he violates any term of the agreement he would be sentenced for the crime. However, if he abides by all of the terms of the agreement his sentence would be dismissed.
Judge Maribeth Raffinan scheduled a deferred sentencing review on July 13.
