A man was killed on Rhode Island Avenue in Northeast Monday night.
Police say Tony Jermaine Gates, 24, was found suffering from apparent gunshot wounds in the 1000 block of Rhode Island Ave., NE, a little before midnight. Gates was taken to the hospital where he died from his injuries.
Police have not yet released any suspect information.
Police last week charged a man with the murder of Demetrius Christopher Medlay in February.
Kevin Grover, 24, has been charged with first-degree murder while armed for allegedly killing Medlay. Medlay was found in the 3100 block of Martin Luther King Jr. Ave., SE, in the afternoon of Feb. 24.
Grover was presented in D.C. Superior Court and is being held without bail. He is due back in court Sept. 15.
Police are investigating a double homicide that took place Friday night.
Two men, Raeshard Blue, 40, and Treyvon Johnson, 27, were found after being shot at around 11:30 p.m. in the 300 block of 34th St., NE. Both men died from their injuries. Police have not yet released any suspect information.
A second man has been charged with the murder of Antoine Danell McCullough in July.
Police last week arrested 21-year-old Jerrell Powell and charged him with first-degree murder while armed.
McCullough had been found in the 3500 block of 18th St., SE, on July 2.
Jeremiah Jordan had already been charged with McCullough’s death and is being held without bail. Both men are due in court Sept. 1.
A 24-year-old man was killed early Sunday morning.
Police say Dante Miller was found in the 1200 block of 18th Pl., NE, at around 2 a.m. Sunday. Miller’s body was found with apparent gunshot wounds and taken to the medical examiner for further investigation.
Police have not arrested any suspects.
A man who was fatally shot earlier this month has been identified as Chijioke Agbakahi, and police are asking for the public’s help in finding two people of interest.
Agbakahi was shot Aug. 5 at around 6:40 p.m., and died from his injuries on Aug. 10.
Police are now circulating a video showing two people they seek to identify while they try to solve Agbakahi’s murder. In the video, the two men are seen exiting a silver car, which police are also trying to find. The video is shown below.
Three men have been charged in the fatal shooting of Derryk Johnson earlier this month.
Johnson, 19, and another male were found suffering from apparent gunshot wounds in the 600 block of N St., NW. Both men were taken to the hospital, where Johnson died from his injuries.
Police have now arrested Marc Butler, William Cunningham Jr. and Marcus Martin for the fatal shooting. All three men have been charged with first-degree murder and are being held without bail. They are all due in court on Sept. 8 at 9:30 a.m.
Police have charged 20-year-old Brandon Byrd with the murder of his father, Otis Byrd.
Otis Byrd was stabbed in the parking garage by the Children’s Medical Center last Wednesday. A short time later, police arrested and charged his son with second-degree murder while armed.
Brandon Byrd is being held without bail and is due back in court on Sept. 26 at 9:30 a.m.
Police are asking for the public’s help in finding Herman Lee Cook., Jr.
Cook is wanted for the alleged murder of 45-year-old Donald Stephen Johnson, Jr., earlier this month.
Johnson was found suffering from gunshot wounds in the 5700 block of Georgia Ave., NW, last Monday. He was taken to a nearby hospital where he died.
Police describe Cook as a black male, 5’8″ tall, weighing 250 pounds. He has brown eyes and black hair. Police say he is to be considered “armed and dangerous.”
The body of a man found in Ivy City has been identified as William Lassiter, 52.
Lassiter’s body was found last Wednesday in the area of Mount Olivet Road and New York Avenue, NE. Police were responding to the sound of a single gunshot a little before 2 a.m. when they found Lassiter dead with apparent gunshot wounds.
Police have not yet made any arrests in the case.
A 19-year-old was fatally shot in Anacostia over the weekend.
Gary Thompson, of Maryland, was found by police at around 12:30 p.m. Saturday afternoon suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. He was taken to the hospital where he died from his injuries, according to police.
No arrests have been made.
Police are investigating the fatal shooting of Deonta Farrar.
Farrar, 32, was found with apparent gunshot wounds in the area of Quarles Street and Kenilworth Avenue, NE, on Tuesday night.
At about 7:15 p.m., police found Farrar and had him taken to the hospital where he died from his injuries.
Police have not made any arrests for Farrar’s death.
A 26-year-old man was fatally shot early Sunday morning.
Police say Matthew Walker was found with apparent gunshot wounds in the 900 block of Eastern Ave., NE at around 1:30 a.m.
Walker was declared dead at the scene. Police have not released any suspect information.
Police have charged George Joyner, 50, with the murder of a man who has yet to be identified.
Joyner has been charged with second-degree murder while armed for allegedly stabbing another male to death in the area of 2nd and E Streets, NW.
Joyner was presented in D.C. Superior Court and is being held without bail. He is due to appear in court again on September 9 at 9:30 a.m.
A man was fatally stabbed near Children’s Medical Center Wednesday night, in what police are investigating as a domestic incident.
The D.C. Police Department tweeted Wednesday night that the man, later identified as Otis Byrd, had died and police were searching for the man’s suspect as the suspect.
UPDATE: Stabbing victim in 100 b/o Michigan Ave has been pronounced at hospital. Suspect is his adult son and has fled the scene.

As of Thursday at noon, the suspect still has not been arrested. Police responded to the 100 block of Michigan Ave., NW, near the hospital, and found Byrd suffering from stab wounds. He later died at the hospital.
This is the second domestic incident police were investigating Wednesday night. A man was charged with killing his father inside their home in Georgetown.
