The Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) is investigating a shooting that left a man injured on Dec. 30.

According to MPD documents, officers responded to a local hospital for the report of a shooting victim seeking treatment. During the investigation, it was determined the victim was shot on the 4300 block of Wheeler Road, SE.

The suspect vehicle was captured by surveillance footage.

MPD offers a reward to anyone that provides information which leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for each violent crime in the District.

The Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) is seeking the public’s assistance in identifying and locating suspects involved in shooting a man on Dec. 30, on the 900 block of 12th Street, NW.

According to MPD documents, officers responded to the location for the report of a shooting, where they located a man with gunshot wound injuries. He reported he was walking on U Street when two suspects demanded his belongings. The victim complied, and one of the suspects shot him.

He was transported to a local hospital for the treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.

The suspects were captured by surveillance footage.

Document: MPD Arrests Man for July Homicide

The Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) announced an arrest was made in connection to a July 3, 2023 homicide.

According to MPD documents, on the day of the incident, officers responded to the 2800 block of Hartford Street, SE, for the report of a shooting. At the location, officers located 33-year-old Langston Sharps with gunshot wound injuries. He died at the scene.

On Dec. 28, pursuant to an arrest warrant, officers arrested and charged 22-year-old Jahi Settles with second-degree murder while armed.

The Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) is investigating a shooting that killed a man on Dec. 30, on the 500 block of Florida Avenue, NW.

According to MPD documents, officers responded to a local hospital for the report of a shooting victim seeking treatment. Despite all life-saving efforts, the victim succumbed to his injuries.

He was identified as 18-year-old Dekhota Evans.

During the investigation, it was determined Evans was transported to the hospital in a vehicle, by unknown individuals, after being shot at the location.

The Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) is investigating a shooting that killed a man on Dec. 28, on the 300 block of 17th Street, NE.

According to MPD documents, officers responded to the location for the report of a shooting, where they located a man inside a vehicle suffering from a gunshot wound. He died at the scene.

The victim was identified as 51-year-old Freddie Lee Crawford.

Document: Man Arrested in Southeast Shooting That Left a Man Dead

The Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) announced an arrest was made in connection to a shooting that killed a man on Nov. 4, on the 1400 block of L Street, SE.

According to MPD documents, officers responded to the location for the report of a shooting, where they located a man suffering from gunshot wound injuries. DC Fire and Emergency Medical Services (EMS) was called to the scene, and after all life-saving efforts failed, the man was pronounced dead.

The victim was identified as 22-year-old Charles Towles.

On Dec. 28, pursuant to an arrest warrant, 20-year-old Tremon Jackson was arrested and charged with second-degree murder while armed.

Document: Arrest Made in a Southwest Homicide

The Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) announced an arrest was made in connection to a fatal shooting that occurred on Dec. 26.

According to MPD documents, officers responded to the 600 block of Maryland Avenue, SW, for the report of a shooting, where they located a man with gunshot wound injuries. He was transported to a local hospital, where he died.

The victim was identified as 27-year-old Tyvez Monroe.

On Dec. 28, pursuant to a DC Superior Court arrest warrant, 36-year-old Deonte Vondell Spicer was arrested and charged with first-degree murder while armed.

Document: Bicyclist Dies After Being Struck by a Vehicle

The Metropolitan Police Department’s (MPD) Major Crash Investigations Unit is investigating the death of a man who was struck by a vehicle while he was riding his bike on Dec. 19.

According to MPD documents, the preliminary investigation revealed that a male cyclist was traveling northbound in the northbound lanes of the 1200 block of New Jersey Avenue, NW. A four-door black sedan was traveling at a high rate of speed southbound on New Jersey Avenue, NW, and crossed into the northbound lanes to begin turning left onto Morgan Street, NW.

When the sedan crossed into the bike’s path, it struck the cyclist and fled the scene. The cyclist was transported to a local hospital for treatment of life-threatening injuries.

On Dec. 28, the cyclist succumbed to his injuries.

The victim was identified as 33-year-old Peter Black.

MPD requests anyone with knowledge of the incident contact them.

Document: Man Dead After Vehicle Recovered from Anacostia River

The Metropolitan Police Department’s (MPD) Major Crash Unit is investigating the death of a man who was found in a vehicle submerged in the Anacostia River on Dec. 25, near the 700 block of Anacostia Drive SE and the 11th Street Bridge.

According to MPD documents, an uninvolved witness called 911 and reported a vehicle was in the River near the location. The preliminary investigation revealed that a 2011 Chevy Tahoe was traveling northbound on Anacostia Drive SE, when, for unknown reasons, the vehicle crossed over the designated footpath and grass embankment, entering the river.

A man was recovered from the vehicle, and despite all life-saving efforts, he was pronounced dead.

The man was identified as 38-year-old Michael Jerome Dennis.

The Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) continues to investigate a shooting that killed a man on Dec. 26.

According to MPD documents, officers responded to the 2600 block of Benning Road, NE, for the report of sounds of gunshots. Upon arrival, officers located evidence of a shooting, but no victims.

A while later, officers responded to the 4300 block of Hunt Place, NE, for the report of an unconscious person. Upon arrival, officers located a man with gunshot wound injuries. He died at the scene.

The investigation determined the individual was shot on the 2600 block of Benning Road, NE.

The victim was identified as 19-year-old Ronald Crews.

The Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) announced an arrest was made in connection to a shooting that killed a man on Oct. 16.

According to MPD documents, officers responded to the 1500 block of Maryland Avenue, NE, for the report of a shooting. When they arrived, they located 28-year-old Davon Fuller with gunshot wound injuries. He was transported to a local hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.

On Dec. 27, 28-year-old Deandre Miles turned himself into the Homicide Branch, where he was charged pursuant to an arrest warrant with first-degree murder while armed (premeditated).
