Five More Inmates Test Positive for COVID-19 At DC Jail

Five more inmates tested positive for the coronavirus at the DC Jail, according to an announcement from the DC Department of Corrections on May 21.

All of the inmates are male between the ages of 35 years old to 48 years old.

Four of the inmates were housed in the correctional treatment facility and one was housed in the central detention facility.

Including the the five new cases, 17 inmates are being held in isolation at the DC Jail. One-hundred and sixty seven inmates recovered from their illnesses and returned to the facilities’ general population.

Three inmates are being treated at a local hospital.
