Judge Schedules Hearing for Murder Defendant

A DC Superior Court judge scheduled a hearing to determine if a murder case has enough evidence to go to trial.

Carson Posey, 20, who is also known as Dada, is charged with first-degree murder while armed for allegedly shooting 28-year-old Shantal Hill on April 15 on the 1200 block of North Capitol Street, NW.

Judge Danya Dayson scheduled his preliminary hearing for Aug. 21.

She also granted defense attorney Jacqueline Cadman’s request that the prosecution give her both video and written evidence regarding the defendant’s case.

According to witnesses, the victim was accused by another woman of having sexual relations with her boyfriend’s acquaintance shortly before the shooting. The defendant was seen approaching the two women before getting into a verbal altercation with the victim and walking away with her.
