During a status hearing on April 29 no action was taken in furtherance of the case.
Kimberly Thompson was convicted of first-degree murder in March of 2019 for shooting Charles Mayo, 53, on the 1900 block of Bennett Place, NE in December of 2015.
No action was taken to further the case. D.C. Witness previously reported that Thompson was granted a mistrial after Thompson’s defense attorney, Kevin Mosley, said the prosecution failed to turn over documents that could exonerate Thompson.
On April 22, Judge Michael O’Keefe denied Thompson’s motion for release because of the COVID-19 pandemic.
A status hearing is set for Aug. 12.
